Issues in MantisBT - closing or resolving - sometimes too soon

Just a quick note. I sometimes mark as "Closed" or "Resolved" issues in MantisBT before I should and then no one can add another Note. Just to clarify, I am only doing this so I can keep track of what I no longer am testing, verifying, or there are no plans to do anything more on the issue. It makes it easier for us to find the issues that yet need to be addressed. If you want to add another Note, just request to re-open, or just do like Pierre and email a followup. gg/pys

I am confident that Sam can identify useful functions to place on the Shuttle. I would just like to mention that I think it is better to focus on features that are useful when it makes sense to use the Jog-Shuttel's roller ring. Well, I don't know asm, so i looked for some nice script for searching inside objdump's output.. One might assume, then, that if that structure was created from a 2160p (UHD) HEVC file that is compliant with Ultra HD Blu-Ray (UHD-BD) -- it would playback on a UHD player. Unfortunately, however, that isn't the case. When TSMUXER v2.6.12 was created there was still much that hadn't been decided in the UHD-BD standard. The purpose of this software is to examine the output of TSMUXER v 2.6.12 and make changes that are required in order to make that structure readable and compatible with a standard UHD-BD standalone player. Latest Version: v1.12 (Feb 25, 2018) Click this link to download the latest version in a zip file. How to use the software: 1. Read the software license text in LICENSE.TXT. 2. Create a set of streams (video/audio/subtitles) that is compatible with UHD-BD. This assumes the video is 3840x2160. Be careful with bitrates! An original stream may not work -- as its maximum bitrate could exceed that of a BD-50 or BD-25 disc. I recommend you make sure the total of all streams does not exceed 50Mbs combined for BD-50 (absolutely no more than 64Mbs) and 35Mbs for BD-25. 3. Open TSMUXER v2.6.12 and select those streams (TSMUXER instructions are available elsewhere -- and details are not included here). 4. Using the TSMUXER software, output a BD compatible structure to a folder on your hard drive. Let it complete its task. 5. Run TSM2UHD, and select the folder you created in step 4. Then press the button to start execution. TSM2UHD will run. It will make changes to these files in the TSMUXER created folder: Index.bdmv, MovieObject.bdmv, the .mpls file, .clpi file, and .m2ts file. NOTES: 1. This is beta software. I tested it on my Sony UBP-X800 player and it works. There is a chance there may still be bugs... if you have issues report them here. 2. Bitrates! Remember, An original stream may not work as is -- as its maximum bitrate could exceed that of a BD-50 or BD-25 disc. I recommend you make sure the total of all streams does not exceed 50Mbs combined for BD-50 (absolutely no more than 64Mbs) and 35Mbs for BD-25. 3. The program has to scan the entire M2TS stream making changes to every video start code and all PMT packets. This can take a while (about 30-40 minutes on my system). I have noticed that on my player, it seems to play ok even when these updates aren't done. For that reason I have added a checkbox on the program's form that allows you to skip those updates. I highly recommend keeping it unchecked for compliance... but if you're in a hurry and want to risk it, it's your choice. 4. I wrote this without access to the UHD-BD standard... so keep that in mind. If you run into an issue, report in this thread and I'll see what I can do. Detach plugin without move/shift the others

I would like to Detach a plugin between two others plugins but I don't want that the others plugins to be moved. I didn't find a function or a good way. No, I don't get crashes with standard CFLAGS. I put 6 plugins one after another, even heavy ones, without any problems.

Playback slowdown

I did some tests again with the 2019/01/16 release and I don't notice any more slowdown problems with the playback.. Where before I went from 30 fps to 10 or even 1 fps; now I go from 30 to 27 - 28 fps. I'd say the problem is solved! Thank you very much. In my opinion, the mismanagement of mkvs and pngs remains; but no more than it always has been. Do you think it is better to open an issue on this subject?

The metadata partition lies on top of the underlying partition, which could be a type 1 partition, sparable partition, or a pseudo-overwrite partition. The metadata partition consists of 3 files: the Metadata File, the Metadata Mirror File, and the Metadata Bitmap File. The Metadata File and Metadata Mirror File have duplicated metadata -- File Entries and Allocation Extent Descriptors. They may optionally have duplicated data, i.e., each metadata has two copies on the media. To simplify the following discussion, we assume that the Metadata Mirror File does not duplicate the Metadata File content. All data in the metadata partition are stored in the Metadata File. The logical block number in the metadata partition is the file offset in the Metadata File. Since some space in the Metadata File may be unused, the Metadata Bitmap File is used to keep track of the free space in the Metadata File. The metadata for the Metadata File, Metadata Mirror File, and Metadata Bitmap File are stored on the underlying type 1 (or sparable or pseudo-overwrite) partition. These are the only metadata that are not stored in the metadata partition. The data of the Metadata File and Metadata Mirror File must be aligned to the media ECC block size or packet size, whichever is bigger, and its size must be a multiple of the media ECC block size or packet size, whichever is bigger. [....] 5.3.5 Pseudo-overwrite partition The pseudo-overwrite partition (POW) is used for next-generation write-once media (e.g., Blu-ray Disc recordable or BD-R) on next-generation intelligent drives. These drives manage the address translation within the drive (what the virtual partition does before) to make the partition appear as an overwritable although the physical media is write-once. When POW partition is used, the metadata partition shall also be used for metadata, in the hope that metadata are clustered and achieve better performance. However, on write-once media, even when data are logically clustered in one partition, they may physically be far apart on the media. Because a longer physical distance often implies poorer performance, whether the use of metadata partition can improve performance is questionable. In a media that supports POW partition, the media can be separated into several tracks. Each track has a Next Writable Address (NWA). A new block can be written to the NWA of any track. An existing block can be overwritten. The NWA of any track can change at any time. I wanted to put writings that would appear gradually thanks to the keyframes autos. But it didn't work, and the writings all appeared together as if there were no keyframes. Actually, testing this line of optimizations for x86-64 now: "-O3 -ffast-math -ftree-vectorizer-verbose=6 -mavx -msahf -mfma -fopt-info-vec-missed=missed_vec.log -march=native -mtune=native -fPIC" note, -fopt-info-vec-missed=missed_vec.log will produce huge log file, telling developers about missed vectorization opportunities.
